Kia Sportage Negotiation Guide

Suggestions Expire at End of Month

Inventory vs. Competition

As you can see, The Sportage is dealing with a fairly regular amount of inventory on their gas models, but is really short on supply for its hybrid variant. A great alternative would likely be the more popular CR-V or RAV4 Hybrid.

Inventory by Trim Level

The main trims you are going to find on dealer lots are the X-Line, EX, and LX models. Quite frankly, it wouldn’t even be worth wasting your time with finding anything besides these trims because of how short inventory is.

Suggested Trim, MSRP, and Target Discount

Target Trim: X-Line AWD

Example MSRP: $34,890

Target Discount Range: 0%-4.5% OFF MSRP

Target Selling Price: $33,320

Judging by the number of available Sportage gas models there are, I do believe getting a minor discount of up to 4.5% would be possible in many situations. I would certainly not recommend paying over MSRP on one though, and move to one of it’s competitors!

Special Offers & Lease Rates

Rebates: $500

Loyalty: N/A

Military: $300

Recent College Grad: N/A

Special APR: 4.99 @ 60, 5.49% @ 72

Lease Cash: $330

Lease Residual: 66% @ 36 Months (12k mi)

Lease Money Factor: .00255

Keeping in line with it’s competitors, Kia is offering special financing instead of a $500 rebate available if you chose to pay with outside financing. The lease residual is excellent, but the money factor is definitely on the higher end.
